CIVIL ENGINEERING

Vision

To emerge as a leading Civil Engineering department, transforming the young minds into a competent civil engineer contributing to the sustainable development of the nation and making the world a better place to live.

 Mission

Imparting an environment to germinate conceptual learning of various subjects and to make the young minds cognizant of latest advancements in the field of engineering.

To enrich the society with technically sound engineers having an inclination towards sustainable development

Imparting a touch of core values and ethics of a human being, hence  fulfilling the core objective of an educational institute.

 Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

1. To develop student’s competence in fundamental engineering and provide the continuous updation  of technical advancements in the field of engineering

2. To develop a habit of conceptual learning and the ability to perceive, understand, analyze, design and comprehend field challenges of civil engineering

3. To develop an approach towards environment friendly technological alternatives and provide a strong foundation of conceptual engineering blended with professional skills to increase their employability potential.

4. To inculcate communication skills in the students to help them develop team work approach adding effectiveness to their management abilities.

5. To impart universal human values blended with strong professional ethics leading to a strong character building of students.

Labs

The Surveying Laboratory is equipped with the instruments and tools that students use throughout the surveying course. Students learn techniques for gathering field data with both traditional and modern instruments and demonstrate their proficiency on weekly lab exercises and a comprehensive semester project and final exam. Lab is equipped with traditional and most advanced equipments such as Chains, tapes, compass dumpy levels, auto level, theodolite, Plane tables, Total Station and GNSS. The lab serves as space for the lab equipments as the practices are performed in the field.

The Fluid Mechanics Laboratory is designed to examine the properties of fluids and to conduct experiments involving incompressible flow. The laboratory is equipped to conduct experiments on pipe flow such as Bernoulli's experiment, Impact of jet, orifice, notch, frictional loss etc.
The computer lab is equipped with the latest desktop computers to perform the practicals of programming languages, to  solve the examples based on various numerical methods and for the literature review of the design engineering and final year project.
